UDAIPUR, Oct 20 (TIWN): Tripura Infoway (TIWN) published various articles on Udaipur subdivision located Old Royal Palace's Bhuwaneswari temple's a very old priest Ashutosh Chakraborty who has been worshiping Goddess Bhuwaneswari since last 40 years. The Bhuwanewasri temple left in deplorable shape, Durga Puja is stopped there since few decades but Ashutosh Chakraborty and his predecessors continued to worship Goddess Bhuwanewasri. When TIWN met him in 2016 he was in continuous demand for the new temple's completion with perfect roof-system in the front. The ageold temple of Bhswaneswari was cemented before a decade but a part of the building construction was stopped during former tainted DM of Gomati District Sonal Goel's tenure. However, till day the temple has left in same half-done condition whereas the priest was removed from the temple forever few days after March 3rd 2016 (Election Result out). Now after removing Ashutosh Chakraborty, another priest Narayan Chakraborty has been appointed by local BJP.

TIWN has verified the fact on spot.

The brutal move of BJP doesn't end here rather flags in saffron colours have been put across the temple now. The new priest Narayan Chakraborty himself told TIWN that after CPI-M era ended he got the chance. Former priest Asutosh Chakraborty, resident of Rajnagar (Near Old Royal Palace, Bhuwaneswari temple),Udaipur and his dedication since 40 years at there. Earlier, the temple was in a mud-hut, later it was taken to a temple near to the hut.

In an interview back in 2016, the previous priest Asutosh Chakraborty told TIWN, "Earlier, centering Durga puja festivals held in Royal Palace of Udaipur. Since many years  this hut (temple) has been locked, as no one came to support this Royal and Traditional Festival and thus the Durga Puja has also been stopped here. But all are bygone era now. Before my death, I just want to see the shelter on my mother Bhubaneshwari's  head,” Ashutosh Chakraborty said this while discussing the  last wish of him which is construction of a roof on this present Puja Mandir.

But now, Ashutosh Chakraborty has been removed by replacing him with new priest Narayan Chakraborty. Narayan Chakraborty (another kind man) also accepted that the new party has brought him in this temple.

In Udaipur, erstwhile capital of Tripura Kingdom, -  a city where royal memories are stacked up over centuries.

Udaipur also the place where once Govinda Manikya built Mata Bhuwaneswari’s temple. But now this Goddess has gradually become unpopular due to death of the Great Kings.

Bhubaneshwari Temple is located 55 km from Agartala on the eastern fringe of Udaipur town by the bank of bank of river Gomati.  It was built by Maharaja Govinda Manikya (1660–1676). The temple is immortalised in Rabindranath Tagore's famous play known as Bisarjan and Rajarshi. Maharaja Govinda also features an important character in Tagore's play. While approaching Bhubaneshwari Temple one can find the ruins of the palace of the Maharaja. Down below the temple the river Gomati flows.
