AGARTALA, Oct 18 (TIWN): For mythological episode of 'Mahishashur' came out from a 'Mahish' (Buffalo) like each year this years also an innocent buffalo was sacrificed of life brutally at Durga Bari to mark Navami. Thousands of devotees rushed to Durga Bari to witness the 'bali' as it thought to be a part of earning 'Punyo' (Blessing) by observing this 'bali'. Amid full of celebrations, cheers and 'Joy-Joy-Kar' of devotees the priest first garlanded the 'buffalo', worshiped it and then cut its head in two pieces. Amid controversies, netizens however have slammed this brutal killing practice of innocent animals across state after TIWN had posted a debate-space centering the buffalo killing. The buffalo which was killed today in Bali, on Oct 14 its picture was posted in social media of TIWN whereas 90% netizens have been against the 'bali' pratha.Moreover, in Hindu Sastra also bloodshed was nowhere prescribed. Hindu Shastra doesn't advice that God asked for animal blood, rather God asked human to sacrifice also lust and prejudices. Netizens have expressed heavy resentments against the 'bali' system.
