AGARTALA, Oct 12 (TIWN): Solar Power has been shifted from Science & Technology Dept to Power Dept aimed to utilize the solar method of power generation to save power.

Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency (TREDA) is the State Nodal Agency for implementing New & Renewable Energy Projects in the  State Tripura, was under Science & Technology Dept. and in cabinet meeting it has been decided that the TREDA will be shifted to power dept.

TREDA was established in the year 1998 and the activities of TREDA was extended through out the State. TREDA is dedicated to promote the new & renewable energy resources.  

Ratan lal Nath said that if solar is used for power surplus, then in future by saving power Govt can sell more power to neighboring country Bangladesh,
