AGARTALA, Oct 6 (TIWN): Two days works for Durga puja season has been started under State Govt but with Rs. 160 per mandays, i.e. Rs. 320 after two days mandays to be given to the workers.
It has been known that various clubs which are politically connected with the ruling party, workers are cleaning their club areas, but before the election BJP assured, Rs 340 will be minimum wage whereas the wage is now being paid Rs. 160 only.
Every year Tripura Govt provides 2 days mandays to poor ahead during Durga Puja and this year BJP Govt had announced to increase the numbers of beneficiaries.
Finance Minister Jishnu Debbarma said, "Since 6 years, 2 lakhs 26 thousand families were getting two mandays work during Durga Puja. This year we have increased the number 1 lakh and thus beneficiaries numbers stands 3 lakhs 26 thousand"
"It's a huge hike of 41 %. As an example if in a village 100 people were getting works, now the number of beneficiaries will be 144 people", Deputy CM claimed on that time.
