AGARTALA, Sep 24 (TIWN): As under 6 months of Biplab Deb's Govt led by BJP MLA Atul Debbarma's chairmanship on the so called 'society' of Tripura Medical college (TMC), internees of the hospitals are getting only Rs. 12,500 per month as honourium, thus in demand of hiking honouriums the practicing doctors went in strike from today.
Even though fees of the Medical course has been increased at around 40 lakhs, but there is no hike of internees honoriums and doctors, staffs salaries. Whenever, the issue is being raised the State Govt (Both previous CPI-M and present BJP) cleans it hands saying it's not a govt hospital, whereas many experts and political figures who were in the Govt earlier accepted that "TMC is totally a Govt College".
A student had earlier in Left Govt's era been paying above 20 lakhs for course but since BJP Govt came in power, instead of decreasing the fees have been double, but there is no development or good news for the employees yet.
Holding banners of protests, the 82 internees also suggested the Govt to "Stop Capitalism" and if "No hike", then "No Service".
