AGARTALA, Sep 20 (TIWN): On Sep 20, 2017 Tripura TV channel journalist of Channel Din Rat Sanatanu Bhoumik was murdered brutally allegedly by IPFT at Mandai which had shaken the journalists countrywide. State journalists on that time, burnt press-jacket in front of Ex-Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s residence after Sarkar didn’t step in Agartala Press Club when Santanu’s body arrived there. Hundreds of protests united the state’s journalists and on that time with zero-trust on Tripura Police CBI was demanded in Santanu murder case. After BJP came in power, journalists were hoping justice for Santanu as BJP was the only party which took highest political mileage but BJP after coming in power ran in the opposite direction of journalists expectations. Even though Chief Minister Biplab Deb announced CBI investigation, but as soon as CBI booked 200 IPFT’s name August 30 and IPFT denied the news, no development has come to the case.Even though under the previous Govt journalists had shown heavy protests but now all are silent against Biplab Deb’s Govt saddening the expectation of people from so called ‘fourth pillar of democracy’.
As per PTI report, CBI booked IPFT MLA, 2 top leaders in Journalist Santanu Bhaumik murder case.
Tripura TV channel journalist Santanu Bhaumik was killed mercilessly on September 20, 2017 at Mandai. After the murder state’s major section of journalists and BJP on that time as opposition had demanded CBI to probe journalist Santanu Bhaumik murder case. On that time, the CPI-M Govt denied CBI and police investigated the case.
Since BJP came in power, CBI investigation delayed for long three months. After BJP led state govt handed over Journalist Santanu Bhaumik murder case to CBI, CBI has held 3 IPFT top leaders in his murder connection.
The booked persons are : IPFT MLA Dhirendra Debbarma, party leader Balaram Debbarma and its Mandai divisional committee president Amit Debbarma, PTI reported.
