AGARTALA, Sep 18 (TIWN): “H†for Highway, “I†for I-ways, “R†for Railway, “A†for Airways was promised before election by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Triputa, but at the 6 months of Govt economy is down and the “H†for Highway projects works are under scanner. Even though cess was imposed upon fuel charges by the BJP Govt saying the collected revenue will be used †to develop the roadways, but since the BJP Govt came in power no road maintenance work has been taken in hands, whereas various scams are exposing. With a shocking development it has been revealed by Congress that without tender Govt of India’s undertaken organization National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) at the investment of 10,000 crores for 995.91 km road. Congress leader Gopal Roy said, this is the biggest ever scam ever held in Tripura and Chief Minister Biplab Deb is directly connected with the scam.
“In Govt of India’s General Financial rules 2017 and Tripura Govt’s Delegation of Financial Power rules clearly says, without tender no work should be given to any company. On June 27 a meeting was held at Delhi, Transport Bhawan in the presence of Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Highways, Principal Secretary of the Dept YS Malik, and high officials as Manoj Kumar, SC Mandal.From Tripura along with Chief Minister Biplab Deb, CM’s OSD Bijay Chibbar, Chief Engineer (NH) Rajib Debbarma, Add Chief Engineer (NH) Subrata Banik. On the other side, from NHIDCL K.V. Rajawat, NHIDCL Chief was present. In that meeting the decision was taken and on July 18, 2018 Chibbar had given note of the decision”, Gopal Roy said.
“Why such a big deal has left without tender ? If State PWD got the work then around 900 crores could be saved. This is the biggest ever scam held ever in Tripura”, Gopal Roy told media.
The Congress leader further demanded CBI probe in the scam.
