AGARTALA, Aug 28 (TIWN): CPI-M MP Jitendra Chaudhury on Tuesday has hit BJP Chief Minister Biplab Deb for his fake claims about doing ‘Rajdharma’ when ADC and rural areas are suffering from extreme food and work crisis. Reacting over govt’s free rice distributions in 10 blocks at 20 kilo per family, Jiten Chaudhury exposed how in the name of “free rice” for 2 months, Govt has fooled the poor people as only rice are being given which costs around Rs. 1,200 whereas no MGNREGA work, no project work are going on in deep rural, ADC area and also the business is at down. Jiten Chaudhury said, “Whereas 100 days MGNREGA is the rights of people, Govt is not giving MGNREGA works. In other years within August month people got 40 days mandays which helped them to earn 8000 rupees, but BJP Govt has ended with 1200 kilo of rice.“In plain areas there is a team (BJP) working to disrupt the peace and at the same wave the branches of it (BJP & allies) are equally disturbing on the hills. A competition as if going on among both the teams. They were activated since last five and half months, working to snatch the democratic rights of the people and destroy the democratic bodies”.“This season is dry but the ongoing poverty crisis situation in the state is human-made”, the MP said.

Hitting Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s claim about he is doing “Rajdharma” for the people, Jitendra Chaudhury asked, “What kind of Rajdharma it is ? Even though we are habituated with the Rajdharma word from him we unable to see any Rajdharma’s existence anymore in the state under his Govt. Somewhere it’s the action committee and somewhere it is developmental committee who are continuing the disturbances but after killing all the democratic systems at village and ADC, Panchayat levels by force, ultimately people of the state are suffering”.

Referring his visit in Thamchara (ADC area) recently, Jitendra Chaudhury said, “We went to see the villages as Govt is claiming about an Anand-ki-Leher waving in the state. Earlier, when I claimed how people are bound to go to Bangladesh then Govt officials also checked the matter, but Govt has not moved from its stand. By sitting in Agartala, the Govt has been saying everything is going rightly (sab-thik-hai). They also said, such allegations are false. I am ready to help the Govt if they do not know the roadmaps of those areas. I will guide them and take them to the destination to meet the locals at there”.

Jiten Chaudhury said, if Rs. 177 was given to people and 40 days mandays were maintained then at least 8000 rupees could be earned. Apart from them, more works under other depts. Are every year held. In this situation 20 kilo of rice only giving them Rs. 1200 merely.

“Before the election it was said that Rs. 340 will be wage and Rs. 2000 will be social pension. But now forget about Rs. 340 out of Rs. 177, sometimes they are not getting Rs. 77”, he added.

“Earlier, from MGNREGA 8000 rupees automatically came in this season (40 works) but now in the name of free rice only 1200 rupees has been given. It is nothing but another mean to fool the people. Ofcourse giving 20 kilo rice at free in 10 blocks is a good move but along with it other works have been cut. But they are claiming that too much works they have done by giving free rice”, Jiten Chaduhury added.

The MP also said, numbers of passengers in the trains have been heavily decreased followed by the down economy.

“Businessmen are alleging how their businesses are facing losses since 5 months. ADC is not getting any fund properly since 2 years from the Govt of India. We hope the upcoming Durgotsab (Durga Puja) will bring smiles to the faces and the situation will be changed”, he said.

“Before the election endless promises were done. On that time they didn’t say about paan-shop and animal-rearing planning, but simply said jobs and employment, but today TPSC even doesn’t care to postpone a test without prior information. What kind of Rajdharma it is ?”, Chaudhury told media.
