Ambassa, Sept 15 (TIWN): School Education Dept’s extreme mismanagement forced the students of Satyaram Choudhury Para Higher Secondary School to block the NH-44 on Sept 12. ADM Dhalai promised them to provide basic necessities of schooling and hostel life. But even after 72 hours, their fate remained the same as ADM Dhalai and School Administration did nothing.

On 12 September last, the students of the Satyaram Choudhury Para Higher Secondary Schools at Shikaribari Village Committee under Ambassa Subdivision and the hostellers of Boys’ and Girls’ Hostels of this school blocked the NH-44 at Shkaribari, Ambassa. They demanded bathroom, dining table at the dining room, purified and filtered drinking water as they have no filter in the hostel and the money of ‘Book Grant’ for last two financial years. Students claimed their hostel life as unhealthy and unhygienic and more seriously, the hostel superintendents were accused of sheer negligence. ADM Dhalai promised them to look after  their plight immediately  but till date the situation remained the same. Tripura’s school education dept needed how much time to provide the students mere water filters astonished the students. More interestingly, when the State Govt. claims Education as one of the sector of elemental importance ..Alas !  a school  and its hostel comprising 800 students lacks of even water filters !
