AGARTALA, July 27 (TIWN): An NRI, Niranjan Saha who lives in America (From Teliamura, Tripura) has helped Swapan Debbarma’s family with Rs. 50,000 who saved thousands of lives on May-15, 2018 by stopping a train before it met a major accident during flood and landslide period in state.
The NRI has sent the cheque through post office and today Agartala Post Office has handed over the cheque to Swapan Debbarma.
Niranjan Saha came to know about Swapan Debbarma via facebook.
Ambassa to Agartala Railway track was identified as damaged, Swapan Debbarma with big leaves and his clothes signaled the train to stop and in this way he saved thousands of people’s lives.
After that few young passengers posted Swapan Debbarma’s photo in social media which made him popular overnight for his good work and sharp brain.
