AGARTALA, July 25 (TIWN): Tripura Ex-Minister MLA Badal Choudhury reacting over Udaipur violence which took place on yesterday after BJP activists had attacked upon CPI-M rally said, “The violence, vandalism are the expressions of frustration of the BJP Govt’s four month’s failure. Not only in Udaipur, but across the state CPI-M party offices have been broken, attacked. People have been killed, injured in revenge. BJP knows well that they can not fulfill promises which they did before the Election. Not a single promise of Vision Document they fulfilled after four months which were written in bold forms on the front page”.“I myself had informed the SP about the rally and it’s a nationwide protest which whole country has observed. But when the rally started not a single police personnel was provided with us. The rally was going on peacefully with our traditional slogans, nothing new was in that. When we were at the down area of Mahadeb Bari then the rally was attacked”, Choudhury said.“Our next programme is on August 9. There is no option to avoid such programme. Let’s see how far BJP Govt can stop our voice”, Choudhury said.

“No democracy is existing in Tripura under BJP Govt. Elected members were forced to resign from their posts”, Choudhury said citing example of Udaipur Municipality Ex-Chairperson Subrata Deb’s case. For Tripura there was a massive country-wide protest and here will not we hold rallies in prominent places ? Police did not know about such a nation-wide protest it’s not possible”, Choudhury added.

“In Udaipur no such incident happened earlier. People had chosen a dais to place their demands. But in ‘michil’, ‘meeting’ people are now attacked. Does it sound good for Udaipur ?”, he said.
