UDAIPUR / AGARTALA, July 24 (TIWN): Tripura has witnessed massive bloodshed on Tuesday during opposition's protest rally led 7 people injured in Udaipur subdivision and hospitalized. The pictures of attack have become viral where CPI-M rally was standing in pause with police after seeing the attackers in Udaipur Bazar. A group of unruly youths were running to attack the rally and the rally was in pause and the evidences of the attack is now viral. However even after the picture became viral, BJP has denied the allegation, saying, “It’s plan of CPI-M to instigate violence and to destroy the peace in Udaipur. Instead of arresting the attackers, BJP has named few CPI-M activists without a single evidence, where the viral picture reveals that CPI-M activists were standing during the attack. None of the attackers were arrested till now. Ex CPI-M Minister Badal Choudhury and other leaders have met the injured CPI-M activists at Gomati District Hospital. BJP leader Pratima Bhowmik holding a press conference said, “It was a plan of CPI-M to malign the image of BJP by organizing violence, which is old technique of CPI-M”. She also claimed, crime rates have been downed in Tripura under BJP Govt blaming the CPI-M for holding rally without permission.

Badal Choudhury said, “It was a national level protest, which was even permitted at Delhi. Till yesterday night CPI-M begged for permission but police didn’t give permission. Today when the rally was going on peacefully BJP attacked the rally and police role’s is in nexus with violence”.

CPI-M leaders led by Ex Minister Badal Choudhury, Ratan Bhowmik, Ex-MLA Madhab Saha were also walking in the rally at Udaipur which was a part of the national protest led by MPs and 5 Left parties at New Delhi before the Parliament. According to CPI-M’s statement, till yesterday night Badal Choudhury, Ratan Bhowmik and other top leaders were trying to get permission for the rally in Udaipur, but police did not give them permission.

As a result CPI-Ms decided to walk without permission. When the rally was entering the New Town Road, they were attacked by miscreants in group. The activists escaped anyhow, whereas 7 to 8 CPI-M activists left injured. One police personnel was also injured during the clash. Police is going file case against CPI-M leaders who participated in the rally, but nobody was arrested till now for the attack.

However, SP A R Reddy said, ‘As Chief Minister will hold a review meeting today and thinking about the law and order situation, police could not give the permission for the rally”.

SP also confirmed a specific case to be filed against CPI-M leaders and activists.

The attack was held after BJP leader Joylal Das asked openly BJP activists to break CPI-M’s legs and hands if they try to “move back”.
