Agartala, Sep 12 (TIWN): Embezzlement of school funds allotted for mid-day meal and other development works in schools have been going on in the remote tribal areas and a few ruling party leaders are allegedly involved in the embezzlement.

In the so called 3 decades golden era of Left Front Govt, the education system in remote hilly region schools has fallen flat. The government has turned a blind eye towards the mismanagement and not taking any initiative over the development of education.

The schools of Damboor Nagar Block area, Dalapati Para, kalian Singh Para, Bhagirath Para and others are under lock and no initiative yet to start the school functioning. Though records project that lakhs were expended under the development of schools and the schools are functioning, the reality is something else. The locked schools remain under Sub Division Inspector of Schools. The steersmen of Left Front in Raima Valley are a total failure to reach the light of education in tribal populated areas. Rather they have been embezzling the allocated funds.

Furthermore, the school books never reach the schools on time, but text books worth Rs 10 lakh have been lying in godowns adjacent to the School Inspectorate office.
