AGARTALA, July 9 (TIWN): Biplab Deb’s continuous hunger for media coverage, claiming undue credit for Central projects, sidelining Minister colleagues being criticized among BJP’s inner circles. Fact is, it’s Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarman and Tripura BJP Observer Sunil Deodhar worked hard since few months to get Agartala Airport renamed after Maharaja Bir Bikram but Jishnu Debbarman was ignored when Union Cabinet approved renaming of Airport. Media hungry Biplab Deb didn’t bother to invite Tripura Royal family members, neither given due importance to royal family’s sole representative Jishnu Debbarma in the much hyped Agartala Airport renaming ceremony held on July 4th evening at Agartala Airport.Also question raises why Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarman was not seen in Agartala-Deoghar Express Train inauguration ? Was he invited or his name was in guest list ?

From Govt insider sources, Jishnu Debbarma was sidelined so that Deputy CM doesn’t get any media glare and all media attention falls upon Biplab. 

In Ex-CM Manik Sarkar’s style, Biplab Deb seems to keep all future contenders of CM’s post by playing cheap politics.

Sunil Deodhar and Jishnu Debbarma had been working hard for Agartala Airport renaming but its Biplab Deb got the media credit as CM ignored contributions of both dedicated BJP leaders, also failed to recognize Dy CM Jishnu Debbarman’s contribution.

Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, gave its approval to rename the Agartala Airport in Tripura as 'Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Kishore Airport, Agartala. The decision comes in the wake of the long pending demand of people of Tripura as well as the Tripura Government for paying tribute to Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Kishore Debbarman.

Biplab Deb’s Tughlaki style of functioning already made him most unpopular among his Cabinet colleagues, Unless CM respects the other Cabinet Ministers of their contributions, future dissent is not out of question.

The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on July 4 renamed the Agartala airport after Tripura's last ruler Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya. The decision comes in the wake of a long-pending demand of the people of Tripura as well as the state government to rename the airport after Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya as a tribute to the last ruler of the princely (1923-1947). After several hundred years of rule by 184 kings, Tripura merged with the Indian union in October 1949.

Agartala-Deoghar Express has been flagged off on Friday at 2.32 pm by Union Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain in the presence of BJP State Observer Sunil Deodhar, Chief Minister Biplab Deb, Transport Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, MP Jharna Das Baidya, MP Shankar Prasad Datta, Chief Secretary Sanjeev Ranjan and other MLAs and dignitaries who attended the programme.

But in both of the programmes Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarma’s presence was missing.
