AGARTALA, July 6 (TIWN): After BJP led state govt hiked 20 % of fare in transport, Congress leader Gopal Roy claimed, such a fare hike has been inexperienced in last 71 years of independence.
Addressing media, Gopal Roy at Congress Bhawan said, “In excuse of fare hike, Transport Minister said that due to petrol / diesel price hike the transport charge has been hiked, but the fuel price was hiked by the BJP Govt only which is right now in demand for down”.
“What is source of income of Tripura people ? 60 % people here are poor and hiking of 20 % fare means a further price hike of all commodities. This a simply an undemocratic decision taken by Jumla Govt”, Gopal Roy told media.
The Congress leader further demanded to withdraw the decision for the welfare of people.
