Agartala, September 10 (TIWN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today held a road show at Manubazaar as the last phase of the party’s election campaign for the forthcoming by-election at 39 Manu assembly constituency. The party’s general secretary (sangathanmantri) Sundar Kumar Paul and spokesperson Tapas Majumder urged for vote for BJP in the by-poll.
“Things have changed a lot between the last assembly election when BJP was in the opposition and now when we are in power at the centre. We want to contribute to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and unite under the saffron flag. If we won this election, it wouldn’t change the government for sure but it will send a message that authoritarian rule wouldn’t last long”, the BJP leaders said.
The party would be focusing on the coming ADC elections but as of now, highest stress is being laid on the Manu by-poll, they said.
Poll campaign for the Manu by-election is scheduled to end on September 11. The BJP pulled out of campaign one day in advance. Over 200 party supporters joined the road show today.
