Gandacherra, Dhalai, September 9 (TIWN): State’s Home Department has set up a new TSR camp at New Jairam Para in Kalyan Singh ADC Village under Gandacherra Police Station near Indo-Bangla border.
Tripura state Police administration took the decision after two jhumias were abducted from a forested area at gun-point by NLFT militants. The local MLA Lalit Mohan Tripura, SP Dhalai , Timir Das and SDM Gandacherra Bhaskar Dasgupta met the villagers at New Jairam Para. The NLFT militants group led by Rath Kalai are trying to gain control over the Gandacherra and Raishyabari and have increased their movement and activities in the past few months. In order to restrict the movement of militants in the area, the TSR camp was set up on September 6 last. Both Tripura and Dasgupta inspected the camp yesterday. Meanwhile, Gandacherra Police are yet to find a clue about two jhumias- Udairam Reang (29) and Juriham Reang (26). The worried families of the abducted jhumias are still waiting for the release of their dear ones.
Locals of Dalapati Para, Kalyan Singh, Ratanagar, Bhagirath Para and Raishyabari fearing for the life. The daring abduction sent message in the area with a group of villagers raised funds locally for the release of abducted jhumias and collected Rs 40,000. Reportedly, the said amount will be sent to Kalai, leader of the militant .
Moreover It is also asked by the locals separately to pay the said amount within 15 days and the deadline given by the outfit to people ended on 22nd June.
