AGARTALA, May 29 (TIWN): Tripura Veterinary students to continue strike for uncertain period of time unless and until they get a written assurance and guarantee about their registrations. Following the strike, when govt officials had visited the College, the students denied to withdraw the strike asking to guarantee of their future. Many students here belong to poor families but due to lack of registration numbers the passed out students are unable even to continue their practices even in private fields’.

When the Joint Director met the students the students also asked him, how a passed out student can upgrade their knowledge and keep their learnt theories in brain unless they are able to work in a private or govt sector.

The warning of ‘suicide’ also came when few students who against their parents wishes took admission in Veterinary College. In this condition, the students also have decided to stop all new admissions in the College in coming days.

Today the Veterinary students and passed out students of Tripura Veterinary College have locked the main gate of the college calling strike for an uncertain period of time. The banners which have been hanged at the locked gate said, “We are mouths without Teeth without Registration”, “Without Registration we are Worthless” etc. The students also raised voice saying, “Wake up authority”, “Value our tears”, “You can’t play with our futures”, “Please Give our registration, we want to work for the society”. Tripura State Veterinary College's affiliation was expired and since two years students are passing out without any registration numbers.

Basically the passed out students led the whole protest as for the ongoing students it’s tough to gain marks after going against the College authorities.
