AGARTALA, May 26 (TIWN): Tripura Ex Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Friday in Left parties organized gathering expressed his resentments over media functioning saying ‘Maximum media houses in Tripura are biased and sold to BJP’. However, the Ex CM also sympathized the journalists working in media houses saying, ‘The people who are working in various newspapers are poor paid workers, whereas BJP bought media houses’ since before the Assembly Election 2018. Sarkar further said that ahead of Election, BJP paid to various media houses, including radio. However, Sarkar didn’t mention whether there was any credit of media houseS in his national image building as ‘Poorest Chief Minister’ of India which led him nationally known as an honest Chief Minister for long 20 years.

Sarkar’s comment once again proves how the politicians in tiny Tripura are worried with the media power and when they have no logic to react back, they simply blame the media.

The rally was conducted by the Left Parties in Tripura opposing the ongoing tensions and pressures upon the opposition parties, including party offices demolitions led by the BJP Govt. Manik Sarkar's signal indicated 'double dangers' for the BJP if CPI-M again comes in power. Manik Sarkar also hit the newly formed BJP Govt saying none of the promises, the BJP has fulfilled of it's Vision Document even after 2 and half month of govt formation.

"The BJP earlier had promised, since the first cabinet meeting all the promises of Vision Documents will be fulfilled. The Vision Document was unveiled by the then Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley himself, but till now not a single promise they have fulfilled from unemployment issue to wages-increase", Sarkar added.

Targeting the ruling BJP, Manik Sarkar said, "We as the opposition will be doing our duties. Whether you listen to us or not, it's up to you. But do not forget people will answer you back against your attitudes".

Sarkar also claimed, "If CPI-M had come in power then peace would be existing here in Tripura, but due to BJP in ruling, state lost its peace".

"Don't think we will oppose you even if you do good works. We will only protests against your bad works", Sarkar added.

People have accepted your because of your Vision Document. But what you had promised, you are doing just the opposite", Sarkar told the ruling BJP Govt.

However, with all these, Manik Sarkar claimed indirectly that media played a huge role in unseating CPI-M.
