AGARTALA, May 23 (TIWN): Students, Professors are frustrated of the tainted Vice Chancellor of Tripura University Anjan Kumar Ghosh and his team, but Govt is yet to take any action against the corrupt heads of the University.

As a VC, apart from crores of funds irregularities, Anjan Ghosh broke all records of corruption when he chosen to ignore his own Deans and Registrar’s office for public communication, rather hired a part-time event Organizer cum Corruption soaked middleman at a hefty compensation of Rs 70,000/- per month to communicate with Media and Public.

From multiple sources, complaints raised against using a private person to represent a Central University in Media & Public. It was alleged that Vice Chancellor patronizing these outside crooks as they supply regular quota of private entertainment including girls. 

Tripura University is the only University in India where a private person representing University’s communication and relation to media & public ...a blatant misuse of power by VC Anjan Ghosh to benefit a crook in exchange for personal entertainment .

BJP’s student wing ABVP has recently exposed Tripura University Vice Chancellor & his advisers for various corruptions  and lies. Not only ABVP, amid CM and Governor’s dais sharing with Anjan Kumar Ghosh BJP spokespersons who are linked with Tripura University have multiple times alleged the corruption going inside the University either under VC Anjan Kumar Ghosh and the team. 

On last year, Central Govt also ordered a probe in the corruption charges against Anjan Kumar Ghosh.

However today India’s Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will be welcomed at Tripura University by Anjan Kumar Ghosh but resent have brewed among students from Nursing College to MA students of the University for ‘No Action’ against the corrupt gang of the VC.

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has been striving to remove corruption from Tripura University amid Govt’s blind eyes under tainted Vice Chancellor Anjan Kumar Ghosh and his team as well as his advisers.

On May 1, the ABVP students sat in protest at the University demanding to remove the VC immediately.

Anjan Kumar Ghosh who was alleged to be in ‘escaping’ mode from the students’ agitation, had hiked a huge amount of exam fees which is becoming unbearable for the students.

When the ABVP members asked the VC regarding fee-hike causes, he replied that students are getting jobs after passing out from this University and thus the fee was hiked.

The students on May 1, 2018 raised a question, “Does anybody come to study in Tripura University to remain as jobless ?”

Addressing the media, Lipika Roy, ABVP State Secretary, also a student of the University said, “We are protesting since one month with a basic demand, which is the fee-hike. Along with that result scams of Colleges as well as MA under Tripura University is also reason of this agitation”.

“Every year, students are facing problems due to the result corruption. Maximum students are failed in the MA semesters since many years. Before one month the University had promised to solve all the problems including fee hike, result-scams and delay in the results. The fee which was limited within 2000-3000 rupees, have now hiked at 10,000-12,000 rupees. But after one month no solution has come to the issues. Thus we have sat in protest and till the VC, who is playing hide & seek with us will not arrive, we will not go from here”, Lipika Roy said.

“Our work is not only agitation, but we will not stop till the problems are solved permanently. It’s not possible for our all students to provide that much of charges as fee”, she added.

 When this is the condition of Tripura University, Vice President or President’s visit will not help out the students until the corrupt gang including VC’s private media advisors are removed.

Noteworthy, Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu who is the Vice-President of India, since 11 August 2017, will visit Tripura to attend the 11 convocation at Tripura University today 4 pm. In a press conference, Tripura University Vice Chancellor Anjan Kumar Ghosh on Monday afternoon has confirmed the convocation programme to be inaugurated by Vice Presidentof India Venkaiah Naidu.

Venkaiah Naidu  will chair the convocation progarmme as the Chief Guest. Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy, Chief Minister Biplab Deb also to be present on that occasion.
