AGARTALA / UDAIPUR, May 21 (TIWN): A crucial meeting was conducted on Monday at Udaipur by Chief Minister Biplab Deb in the presence of Tourism Minister Pranajit Singha Roy and other leaders and Chief Secretray Sanjeev Ranjan. Recently rupees Rs. 50 crores were sanctioned for Matabari development by the central govt. Centering that project a meeting was conducted at Udaipur which discussed about various important issues. Most interesting parts of the project will be state govt’s initiative to connect Matabari with Udaipur Old Royal palace i.e. Bhuwabeswari temple and connecting Matabari directly with Agartala Airport. According to the sources, various areas across Matabari have been illegally occupied by people, which will be recovered. However, whether it will be in exchange of compensation or direct bulldozed it’s not sure.
The important points of the meeting’s discussion were 1) 17 Acre lands to be recovered, 2) Cleanliness drives across Matabari, 3) Drinking water facility, 4) Lighting arrangement, proper electricity, 5) Connecting Bhuwaneswari temple with Matabari, 6) Launching CCTV camera, 7) Development of Kalyansagar, 8) Planning led by Expert committee, 9) Direct connectivity with Airport, 10) Security arrangements etc.
Earlier, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb has announced Rs. 50 crores have been sectioned for Udaipur located Matabari temple’s development.
Highlighting the BJP led Central Govt’s Act East Policy CM said, “Till day 90 % funds has been given by the central govt. At our request within two months above 800 crores were sanctioned from PM’s fund. 50 crore were sanctioned for Matabari. How can I say that central is depriving ?”, the Chief Minister said.
Tripura Sundari Temple is situated in the ancient Udaipur, about 55 km from Agartala, Tripura believed to be one of the holiest Hindu shrines in this part of the country.
