GUWAHATI / AGARTALA, May 20 (TIWN): With a major jolt for the separatists, BJP National Present Amit Shah on Saturday in NEDA conclave at Guwahati in the presence of 7 Chief Ministers of Northeast, has denied to entertain "separatism" and "narrowness", promising to bring Northeast in the main stream of India. In a bold move during North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) conclave BJP National President Amit Shah today made it clear that NEDA doesn’t work to separate or divide any region or portion of a country or a state, but it’s working for the overall development of Northeast under PM Modi’s ‘Sab-ka-Sath, Sab-ka-Bikas’ policy. Addressing at the 3rd conclave of NEDA, Amit Shah said, “The day NEDA was formed it paved the way of Northeastern development led by the BJP Govt. First the alliance was done in Assam, but for the whole Northeast’s development a common forum was needed and that is NEDA".
"NEDA is not only a regional or a political forum. Ofcourse politics comes here as the political leaders are sharing the dais, but today due to NEDA's huge contribution peace is being restored in the Northeast”, Shah said.
“NEDA is also fighting against Algabad (separatist) and terrorism. The terror threats from Bangladesh, Myanmar like countries also have been resolved with NEDA's initiative”, Shah said.
Making BJP's stand clear against separatism, Shah said, "Narrowness comes from deprivation and spreading of Algawad-sentiments are very natural in such circumstances. But when development comes such thinking to be abolished surely".
"Northeast under the Congress ruling was separated from the main stream. Now it's our duty to bring India in Northeast and take Northeast in the main stream of India", Amit Shah added.
