AGARTALA, May 18 (TIWN): Amid Chief Minister Biplab Deb's tall claims about 'No flood to hit 2018's monsoon' as ‘no more CPI-M ruling is existing in Tripura’ and Rs. 800 crores of fund sanctioning from PM's fund including urban and rural developmental funds from centre, Agartala people's sufferings went beyond tolerance on Friday. The whole Agartala City has been drowned under rain water following Thursday night's rain. City has become immovable and office goers are sitting at home. Infact the whole city has been locked by rain water. Almost all the routes of the capital city Agartala is under heavy water logging and vehicular are moving round and round in search of “way†to go out. Drains and roads both have been comprised forcing the people to walk through the knee-level dirty water. Resentments have been brewed among the common people, office goers, auto, rickshaw drivers.
Business, works, normal lives of the city have been totally shutdown due to the unwanted flood since the morning.
Chief Minister Biplab Deb has visited few spots and walked on the common road through the water-logging along with Govt officials to find out immediate solution of the problem.
Visiting his own constituency Banamalipur CM said, “It’s not possible for me to compete all works within 15 days or 1 month and when already monsoon has been started, so work can not be continue much in drainage system's recovery”.
CM also announced Rs. 7 crores of immediate sanctioning for the minimum relief for the citizens from such problems.
