AGARTALA, May 14 (TIWN): The ongoing bulldozing drive of the BJP led Tripura Govt against decades-long CPI-M and Congress party offices is without Municipality’s suggestion and permission.

Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Prafullajit Sinha reacting over the ongoing bulldozing of party offices said, “For what Municipal Corporations are ? Without taking any suggestion form us, the govt is continuing the bulldozing-drive. There was no space for discussion whether to check the ‘legal’ or ‘illegal’ status of the party offices". 

“If Govt discussed with the party workers then a solution would have come”, he said.

Answering media questions, whether the party offices were legal or illegal, Prafullajit Sinha said, “These party offices were made before 70 years by poor workers. On that time, vehicles were  in very less numbers and all were labours. Thus, when after so many decades, the govt is demolishing the offices, it must had discussed with the people and the AMC. Such activity led by state governments was not seen earlier in Tripura”.
