AGARTALA, May 9 (TIWN): Amid 25 years of low pensions were provided to the poor people, under CPI-M govt, now the CPI-M as opposition has demanded Rs 2000 of minimum allowances for the beneficiaries.
Addressing a press conference, CPI-M leader Gautam Das said, "Before the election BJP promised to provide at least 2000 rupees of allowances, but now they have stopped all kinds of social pensions".
"They can punish those illegal beneficiaries, of they find but why they stopped their pensions?", said Gautam Das.
"We demand the pensions should be started immediately at the rate of Rs. 2000 at least", he said.
Noteworthy, the Biplab Deb led BJP Govt has stopped social pensions for verification, which has been strictly opposed by the opposition CPI-M.
