AGARTALA, April 30 (TIWN): Atleast 50 houses were affected at Nandan Nagar in the heavy storm followed by incessant raining on Monday.
Various parts of Nandan Nagar were affected, houses and trees were collapsed due to the heavy storm.
The thunderstorm and rain in Tripura has also caused massive losses to the agricultural areas across the state.
A local man at Nandan Nagar said, "It was a real devastating storm with the damage quite extensive. We are assessing the damage and doing our best to provide relief to those affected”.
Most parts of the state plunged into darkness with power supply badly hit as trees fell on high tension wires and electric poles were uprooted.
Road communication was severely disrupted in several areas with uprooted trees and electric poles blocking highways and other roads.
