AGARTALA, April 19 (TIWN): Tripura Veterinary students are undergoing heavy tensions as even after complaining about their problems to the new State Govt, no solution or positive response has come yet to the students from the Govt side. Under the previous govt the issues were same, whereas due to lack of registration numbers the passed out students are unable to sit in TPSC exams and already above 2-3 year of their careers are spoiled. The internships' locations of the students are too far from the Veterinary College as well as their residences which costs a lot, sometimes becoming almost impossible for the family members to bear the expenses. The students since many years are demanding to hike the Rs. 1300/- per internship allowance whereas in other states it's at least Rs. 10000/-.But even after complaining at the Janata Durbar, no development has come.

The previous CPI-M Govt also did the same with the students but it was hoped that quick action this time will be taken after a change in the administration.

 But Minister Santana Chakmma herself visited the College and after cabinet meeting announced to modernize the college, for which Central funds will be needed, but nowhere the Minister talked about the passed out students problems, neither she mentioned about the internee students agonies. 

The students recently amid their tight internship schedules went to Chief Minister's Janata Durbar at Circuit House, but even after telling the officials that they are from Colleges, the security guard stopped them beyond rows. At the end when one hour had gone, CM could not meet them as he was getting late for a Pragna Bhawan. 

In this situation, the officials who were present at there kept their written documents saying, the students will be called and given clarification. But even after 15 days, students conditions are same. There is no mention about the registration as well as internship allowance yet. Earlier, before Minister Santana Chakma, the students place their demands.

As there is no response from the Govt, the students have decided to go in protest.

The students said, " Veterinary Internee Doctors  are going on strike for Poor Internship Allowance (1300/-). All passout Veterinary Doctors frustrated because of one year after passout they are not getting  Registration  yet. As a result we will go on strike very soon".

Noteworthy, Tripura's Veterinary students are undergoing tremendous financial crisis as their internship allowance has been stuck at Rs. Thirteen Hundred only. The students of Veterinary alleged that whereas medical students are getting Eighteen Thousand per month, but the negligence of the state govt has left them with only Thirteen Hundred which not even adequate for their bus fares. 

In a letter, the students placed their demands, which have been neglected and denied by the previous govt, the Veterinary dept as well as the college authority.But till day there is reply from the Janata Durbar.
