AGARTALA, April 8 (TIWN): Tripura Ex-Chief Minister Manik Sarkar in an online address mentioned, alliance with IPFT was one of the key reasons for BJP's winning in Tripura Assembly Election. "At the outset, what I would like to say, that the alliance with BJP-IPFT was nothing but an unholy one. Now, why we are saying so ?Throughout the country it's crystal clear that BJP is a thoroughly communal party. In the name of cast, religion etc etc they are trying to divert people's attention from the basic problems they are being faced and rule the country and also BJP is authoritarian, which is already exposed", Manik Sarkar said.

"At the ongoing parliament we have observed that attitude of BJP since few days. BJP even unable to face the Parliament's no-confidence motion also. They are trying to prevent it as they are not in a position to face it. This is not a democratic approach", Sarkar said.

"At the same time IPFT which is a tribal outfit, was floated by NLFT, which is an unlawful organization,  declared by the state govt itself. They have actually floated the organization in the year 2000, just on the eve of TTADC. They raised the slogan that there should be separate state for the tribals by curbing the present state of Tripura. The aims will be fulfilled only by dividing Tripura. Tripura is a small state and thus the attempt of such alliances was aimed to destroy Tripura".

"IPFT during the election kept on saying that they will only alliance with those who are supporting Tipraland. This slogan of 'separate state for tribals' which created confusion among the people including youths and students. They started to think that from job, land, facilities all will be given to them, even though CPI-M tried its level best to expose the trickery. It was only CPI-M who created ADC for tribals, tribal language was given by left, reservation was given by the left front including promotions", Manik Sarkar said.
