AGARTALA, April 7 (TIWN): Tripura Veterinary students today has met CM Biplab Deb at Janata Durbar, demanding Registration numbers, hike in internship, better infrastructure etc.

In a letter, the students placed their demands, which have been neglected and denied by the previous govt, the Veterinary dept as well as the college authority.

Sharing the details with CM through a letter, the students said, "Since the establishment of the C.V.Sc & A.H, R. k Nagar, Agartala the govt. was not quite concerned about the development of the college as a result of which after the first batch students of the college were admitted in 2009 there was no admission in the college in the year 2010 and 2011 and the second batch were admitted in 2012 after gap of two years. The first batch which passed out in 2014, had to fight hard for their registration and ultimately they got it after a lot of hardship".

"The college was registered to Schedule - I as per VCI only for one batch. The second batch has passed out in July 2017 and the 3"batch is about to pass out in July 2018 but pass out student has not to be given their registration number yet moreover the TPSC has made on advertisement for recruitment of the post of Veterinary Officer but the state veterinary college student are not able to apply for the posts despite of having the degree because of the registration number so the needy student are in much agony", the students told CM.

"Apart from this problem the students also get very less amount of internship allowance compare to other state colleges across the country. So, we hope that you will look into the matter and take necessary actions for the betterment of college and also make sure the student get their registration number as early as possible"

The students placed 6 demands before the Chief Minister as :

It is to be provided by DADF, Ministry of Agriculture,  Govt. of India.

   3. To cancel the previous advertisement by TPSC for the recruitment of V. O post and increase the number of post and make advertisement only after the state veterinary college students get their registration.

   4. Hike of amount of internship allowance to 13,000 /- per month from             1,300/-per month:  Internship allowance to 13,00 /- per month is very less even to manage travel expenses as we will be posted different places and Bus and car fares are increased  day by day . In other state internship allowance are sufficient amount giving to their internee i.e. 10,000-14,000/- per month.
