AGARTALA, April 5 (TIWN): EPF Pensioners Association led by TRTC employees today once again have demanded equal salaries like the other state govt employees. However, in CPI-M era, their demands were declined by state govt even at the cost of violating High Court's order. Now after the govt has been changed in Tripura, now the pensioners have placed their demand list before the BJP Transport Minister Pranajit Singha Roy. "We are demanding for equal payments like state govt employees for TRTC employees and other PSU's employees but unfortunately in CPI-M regime, we were never paid like state govt employees. Now the new govt is our only hope", said Samar Roy, Chairman of Tripura State Govt undertaking EPF Pensioner's Association.
Even after several protests held by EPF pensioners, the previous state govt led by CPI-M was least bothered to think about the plea of pensioners.
Their four continuous demands which have been placed before Transport Minister are :
1. Govt. undertaking EPF Pensioners’ pensions to be equaled as the state govt. employees from 16/ 11/ 1995.
2. Like other corporations, leave encashment to be given to TRTC,
3. Including all the interest the owned gratuity money should be soon provided,
4. High Court’s verdict on W.P. © No. 452 of 2012 should be followed.
