AGRTALA, April 4 (TIWN): Tripura’s Govt decision to increase SSA teachers job tenure even though minimize the ongoing tension of SSA teachers, but from govt side there was no mention about SSA non-teaching staffs who are now 660 in numbers. Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath’s announcement regarding SSA’s continuation after the cabinet meeting on February 29 although brought some temporary relief for the SSA teachers, but there was no mention about contractual SSA non-teaching staffs, which has fueled tension among them. The non-teaching staffs are facing the jolt as in no newspaper also, there was any mention about "SSA non-teaching staffs' job-continuation".

Thus they are waiting for when the state govt will clarify the matter. The non-teaching staffs were also part of hunger-strike led by SSA at Orient Chowmuhani, Agartala from August 1 to August 7 (2017).

Also in the recent calculation it was seen that total 230 crores are needed to regularize the SSA teachers as well as non-teaching staffs, but the final amount after calculation came with Rs. 207 crores, much less than the estimated expenditure.

All these have fueled tension among the non-teaching staffs of SSA. Right now out of 660 non-teaching SSA staffs, 399 are regular office goers.

On March 29 Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath has announced that SSA teachers can continue their jobs till Central Govt continues the fund.

"Tripura Govt has decided to increase the job tenure of the SSA teachers, whose jobs are according to Central Govt's notice can't be continued after 31st March. We are also talking to the Central Govt to increase their job-tenures. Their jobs will be continued till the Central Govt continue the salary-funds", Ratan Lal Nath said.

"Till Central Govt will be sending the fund for SSA teachers, Tripura Govt will continue their service order", Ratan Lal Nath said.
