Tripura High Court celebrates 5 years of establishment

AGARTALA, March 23 (TIWN): Tripura High Court has celebrated 5th year of its establishment in Tripura in the presence of Governor Tathagata Roy, Chief Minister Biplab Deb, Chief Justice Ajay Rastogi and other senior justices, advocates and legal officials.

Addressing the gathering at High Court, Governor Tathagata Roy was explaining his career as a judge earlier before he became the Governor of Tripura. During his speech, Governor mentioned that 'Stepping his leg in the legal service, he found that the Cyber Crime is the toughest field among criminal laws'. However, the Governor mentioned about the importance of advocate's subject-wise law practices as each field of laws needs experts.

Advocate General Arun Kanti Bhowmik said, "The last 5 years of High Court has changed Tripura's raodmap in a better shape. Tripura High Court's specific judgments brought a revolution against Corruption and it's also responsible to bring a change in the administration".

Justice Subashish Talapatra said, "Not only the 5 years can be considered for Tripura's change but it was Tripura's king who formed an Anglo Saxon model of justice system long back in 1913 and the King was too advanced to talk about Universal Education on that time". Talapatra also expressed his grief about the recent case of 12000 non-teaching posts' case's hearing for which the petitioners had knock the door of Supreme Court".

Chief Justice Ajay Rastogi said, "Tripura High Court must form a Vision Document for next 20 years and to solve all cases including the person standing in the end of the row. We justices will come and go, but the vision document will stay. It's important to look back at last 5 years achievements and to plan about next 5 years".

However, the judges demanded more judges in  the High Court and adequate infrastructure across Courts. The Chief Justice also criticized the infrastructural poor shapes of Gomati, Unakoti and North Dist's Courts.

Chief Minister Biplab Deb mentioned that state govt with the help of central govt will do its best to fulfill all the requirements to upgrade Tripura's legal structure.

 "Our Govt believes in transparency and we have full faith on the justice system too. Both the Govt and justice collaborately would take action against all corrupt officials in coming days", Chief Minister said.
