AGARTALA, March 10 (TIWN): Chief Minister Biplab Deb and his cabinet Ministers assumed charge at Civil Secretariat on Saturday. In his maiden day at State Secretariat, Biplab Deb occupies the chair Chief Minister in presence of BJP State Observer Sunil Deodhar. Officials of Secretariat have welcomed the new Chief Minister in the office. Chief Secretary Sanjeev Ranjan was present on the historical moment, welcoming the new Chief Minister with whom the journey of Tripura's development to start from today. On Yesterday, Biplab Deb had taken oath as the new Chief Minister of Tripura at 12.5 pm in the presence of top BJP leaders including L K Advani. After oath taking while Biplab Deb was addressing the gathering he thanked PM Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, L K Advani. Biplab Deb specially thanked the 36 lakhs people of Tripura saying this is a day which should be dedicated to them. "This is a day of 36 lakhs population of Tripura", said Biplab Deb.

However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in BJP's swearing-in programme at Agartala urged all the opposition MLAs to help the newly appointed BJP MLAs so that the work becomes easier across departments.

 "The MLAs who have been elected either from the opposition or from the ruling, I believe all will be working with full cooperation for the development of the state. The opposition MLAs of Tripura are experienced as they were in power for a long time, but our new team is totally fresh and their ages are also less. The newly elected people at the same time have new aims, dreams and enthusiasm to work. If the team of opposition and the ruling works together Tripura will reach on the height of development very soon", said Modi.

BJP National President Amit Shah said, ‘I believe, Biplab Deb led Tripura Govt will follow PM Modi’s footsteps of Northeast Development’.

“Since Prime Minister Modi is there, across the Northeast development’s paths have been widened. Since the independence even though budgets were allocated, but it never took developmental move and today after the BJP Govt has been formed the path of development in Tripura has been opened”, he said.

"I fully believe that our new team will work in that way and fulfill Prime Minister’s mission of Northeast development”, said Shah.
