AGARTALA, March 6 (TIWN): Defeated CPI-M is silent inside state, amid nation-wise protests are raising by Communists following the Lenin's statue's bulldozing by BJP attired people at South Tripura. At West Bengal today a massive rally was conducted by the CPI-M protesting against the incident and at the same time various national, international media have covered the incident. Asking the reason behind CPI-M's silence inside the state, leader Pabitra Kar said that CPI-M is already protesting across the nation and whole world is also knowing the RSS and BJP led ruling's nature. "Right now apart from Section-144 the situation is not going right for us to organize protests inside state. But across the country protests are going on. Let the nation know about BJP's ongoing attacks and as soon as the Cabinet is formed, CPI-M will come in massive protest. Right now, we are avoiding protests till the Govt is formed".
"We will surely restore the Lenin's statue. Today at Sabroom also another statue of Lenin was bulldozed. We will not sitting silent and keep on tolerating. Soon, CPI-M will come in massive protest", said Kar.
Today Sitaram Yechury terming the attacks by the BJP-RSS and the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) anti-democratic and fascist, CPI-M General Secretary Sitaram Yechury said his party will take up the challenge.
"So far there have been individual torture of 514 of our workers. A total of 1,539 houses have been attacked, 196 houses of our praty comrades and leaders have been set on fire, 134 party offices have been attacked with 64 completely destroyed. In addition, 204 party offices have been occupied by the RSS and BJP," Yechuri told reporters here.
On the other side, counterattacking CPI-M's allegation of BJP is instigating violence, BJP Vice President Subal Bhowmik said, "CPI-M must show a single party activist of them who was injured by BJP".
"Our 49 activists were attacked physically and with 17 left hospitalized including few activists sent to outside the state for treatment. Many are admitted in GB but few unknown faces are sponsoring violence to malign the BJP"
Being asked by media on Lenin Statue bulldozing issue, Sunil Deodhar today said, "I can't say, it was done by any BJP, hence it was the outbrast of public anger may be. But as a BJP leader, I am not with such unruly activity".
