AGARTALA, March 1 (TIWN): Justice Ajay Rastogi has taken oath as the new Chief Justice of Tripura High Court today, replacing former Chief Justice T Vaiphei, in the presence of Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Chief Secretary Sanjeev Ranjan , Director General of Police A K Shukla, Minister Bhanu Lal Saha, Minister Rata Bhowmik, Minister Manik Dey, senior justices and lawyers and other high govt officials and dignitaries. The 'Swearing-in Ceremony' had begun at sharp 11.30 AM with National Anthem at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhawan. Then the words of the appointment of the Chief Justice by India's President Ramnath Kovind was quoted with the permission of Governor Tathagata Roy. Then Governor administered the oath of newly appointed Chief Justice at 11.35 AM. The oath taking ceremony was closed with National anthem after Governor and Chief Justice both completed signature procedures in front of dignitaries in the Durbar Hall.

Justice Ajay Rastogi, born in 18.06.1958 is B.Com., LL.B. Practised in the Rajasthan High Court in Constitutional, Civil Service and Labour etc. Rastogi is specialised in the field of Service and Labour Law.

He worked as Counsel, Rajasthan High Court, Rajasthan Financial Corporation, Jaipur, Board of Secondary Education, Ajmer, Bharatpur Anchalik Gramin Bank, Bharatpur, Rajasthan Rajya Vidhyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd., Jaipur, Jaipur Vidhyut Vitran Nigam Ltd., Jaipur, Ajmer Vidhyut Vitran Nigan Ltd., Ajmer, Rajasthan Rajya Vidhyut Utpadan Ltd., Jaipur and various Educational Institutions etc.

Before  Ajay Rastogi state witnessed Governor Tathagata Roy administering the oath to the former Chief Justice T Vaiphei.
