AGARTALA, Feb 28 (TIWN): Claimed as a Nationalist party BJP and Tripura's separatist party IPFT's alliance has been repeatedly targeted by the ruling left party during the poll-campaigning. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has directly mentioned many times that banned NLFT and IPFT both have been communal parties, involved in mass-killing. Manik Sarkar also claimed that IPFT have emerged from NLFT and the IPFTs have full connection with Bangladesh based NLFT's illegal base. However, at the cost of defeating Left, even after much arguments and waits, Tripura has seen both Nationalist Party i.e. BJP leader Biplab Deb and a Separatist leader N C Debbarma together hugging each-other ahead of counting day.

NC Debbarma is the Chief of IPFT but his followers were recently arrested in Tripura's TV journalist Santanu Bhowmik murder case and a driver Jiban Debnath murder case.

IPFT and BJP have aligned in the Assembly Election with 51 : 9 seats sharing. During the poll-campaigning IPFT was strict on Tipraland (a new state for tribals by dividing Tripura) demand, whereas BJP was ensuring public about 'One Tripura'.

Now after the election has been ended, both parties chiefs have sat together led by State BJP Observer Sunil Deodhar at Rabindra Bhawan.  BJP top leaders including IPFT Chief NC Debbarma are dictating their activists' roles and functions in the upcoming counting day.

Noteworthy, after the election also IPFT came in clash with police as well as CPI-M. However, with the alliance of BJP and IPFT even though replacing the Govt have become easier for BJP, but majority Bengalis are worried about ADC areas changing situation with IPFT gains the power.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar in CPI-M campaigning raised question, how a nationalize party can align with IPFT.

‘Saying only Bharat-Mata-ki-jay is not patriotism. If the BJP claims itself as a nationalize party, then it would stay far from such separatist parties like IPFT. NLFT who killed thousands earlier, from them only IPFT was formed and now BJP has taken their help to win the election', said Manik Sarkar.

'BJP earlier in various means tried to gain vote banks but failed totally and then it took  the shelter of IPFT like parties who have called for Independent Tripura. IPFT aligned with BJP, met Home Minister and then reached out the Prime Minister and that’s what BJP is’, added Sarkar.

Assembly elections in Tripura was conducted on February 18, while people in Meghalaya and Nagaland had voted on yesterday. Counting of votes in all the three states in the north-east is on March 3.

Whole country is now eyeing for the poll result of Tripura which will be announced after two days on March 3rd.
