AGARTALA, Feb 26 (TIWN): Tripura's re-polls across polling stations of 6 constituencies have been ended peacefully, putting a full-stop of Tripura's 59 constituencies voting. CEO Sriram Taranikanti immediately after the election was completed called a press conference at the West DM Office in Agartala and announced the polling percentage across 6 of the booths are at an average 90.58%. Total voters as the CEO said was 5,582 in these polling stations today and out of them 90.58% voters cast their votes. "The re-polling in 6 polling stations has been completed in time and the voting process had also started in exact time in the morning. There was no problem in EVMs. A total 5,056 voters have exercised their franchise. The voting was completed within 5.38 PM today", added CEO.

In a total calculation of the voting since February 18, the CEO said, "91.53% total voting has been cast in our state. It may vary in some points including ballot papers but approximately the number will remain like that till Charilam constituencies poll is done".

Like the last press conference, Taranikanti was avoiding critical questions about the re-polling causes as there are crucial jobs of EC yet on hands like the counting session which is to be conducted just after 5 days across 59 constituencies.

"In each poll, we learn something and the experience which has been gained it's for better performance. Analyzing and  questioning are nothing but looking backward", Taranikanti told media.

Noteworthy, Tripura Election which was to be completed by February-18 across 60 constituencies in the first session on February 18 was conducted in 59 constituencies and one poll of Charilam constituency was postponed due to ruling CPI-M candidate's sudden demise. But after the 59 constituencies voting was conducted, Election Commission of India on February 23 had announced re-polling in 6 polling stations for  February 26 and in those 6 constituencies the poll was conducted amid high security and total peace.
