DHANPUR, Feb 24 (TIWN): Both Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and BJP State President Biplab Deb today have campaigned at 23-Dhanpur constituency on behalf of their parties as Election Commission has announced re-poll in Dhanpur and 5 other polling stations on February 26. Whereas Manik Sarkar had chosen to address a small-rally, BJP State President Biplab Deb with BJP candidate Pratima Bhowmik went in door to door campaigning. But both the leaders' stands against Election Commission was just opposite with each-other. Manik Sarkar addressing a gathering said, "Other polling centres were not even bothered by them (Election Commission), but particularly these 6 centres have suddenly announced for re-polling. That means your votes of 18th February have been cancelled. I was in state committee meeting today and then I thought to meet you (Voters) just to make you confusion clear. On Monday you will cast votes again and that vote will be freshly counted but the last votes were cancelled taken on Feb-18".
Wooing votes for CPI-M Sarkar said, "There is no alternative of peace and development. Thus this time give votes with more enthusiasm and the numbers of votes should be increased".
Being asked by media, Biplab Deb said, "I do not like to talk against the EC's decision and if I say anything it will be just raising my finger against the constitution".
"I don't like to cross the EC's decision. I respect Election Commission. There must be a reason why the re-polling is being held. Moreover, it's just waste of time to analyze the EC's decision, rather than reaching out the voters", said Biplab Deb.
