AGARTALA, Jan 30 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar even though ahead of election, is certainly becoming sympathetic for Tripura's slain TV journalist Santanu Bhaumik who was killed in a clash among IPFT and CPI-M's wing GMP, but he never walked a single rally for Santanu, neither he visited at press Club to see Santanu's dead body on that time. But for Karnataka's killed journalist Gauri Lankesh, Manik Sarkar walked rallies in Agartala, showered sympathy. After Gauri Lankesh's death Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid his final tributes to journalist Gauri Lankesh in Bengaluru but Tripura CM neither visited in Santanu Bhaumik's time nor in Sudip Datta Bhaumik's time. Moreover, Chief Minister never takes Sudip Datta Bhaumik's name when he addresses the mass about journalists killing. It was on September 20, 2017 that CPI-M / IPFT led clash's brutal attack had killed Tripura's young journalist Santanu Bhaumik.
Resident of Jirania, the young journalist was associated with various electronic media who has been killed while covering IPFT and CPI-M clash at Mandai.
The barbaric murder has taken place when after getting informed about an ongoing tension on that hilly zone, Santanu rushed to Mandai to cover the incident.
But, while covering the event suddenly an attack was held upon him with sharp weapons (Da) and continuously the attackers were injuring him.
Later five persons were arrested in his murder case whereas the killers were allegedly around 15. IPFT had blamed CPI-M and CPI-M has blamed IPFT.
Santanu was 26 years old, born on 12 January, 1989, studied at Birendra Nagar High School, Vinayaka Missions University.
