COVID-19 control room active 24X7, Offic | AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, March 30 (TIWN): Tripura Govt officials are in continuous strive in the control room to help the people are stuck in various situations and problems. The officials are inside, outside the control room to tackle the Corona-Virus pandemic led situation in state, which is affecting state’s own people who are stranded outside the state specially. Over 500 phone calls are being received in the day time in that control room and the control room officials are further contacting the stranded people calling them back, said a Govt official on Monday. The control room is active 24x7. Total 3 numbers are active : 241-2424, 241-3434, 231-5879. This control room is assisted by various Departments' officials including Medical staffs. In Ranir Bazar rations are given for 7 days and in similar ways various projects are going on, but survey found that 1200 people are there who are actually immigrants from Assam, West Bengal, Jharkhand like states. 24 persons died in India in Coronavirus | AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, March 29 (TIWN): The coronavirus pandemic which has claimed over 26,000 lives and infected at least 5,75,000 people across 201 countries, according to the WHO has killed 24 persons in India, infecting over 987 persons total. Fresh reports say, in India, Covid-19 has claimed 24 lives and infected as many as 987 people, according to data from the Health Ministry and State governments. Of this, over 880 cases are active. The coronavirus has claimed over 26,000 lives and infected at least 5,75,000 people across 201 countries, according to the WHO. The outbreak has been particularly grim in the U.S., Italy and Spain, apart from China, where it originated in December 2019. A 39-year-old man, who had walked almost 200 kilometers from Delhi to reach his home in Morena in Madhya Pradesh, collapsed and died in Agra on Saturday. Starvation in ‘Goyala Basti†| AGARTALA, March 28 (TIWN): Densely populated slum area in Agartala which is mainly resided by Bihari by profession serving milk to the Agartala city, now reels under massive starvation and the situation is turning more struggling as the cattle are living half-stomach. Extreme poverty, which is leading starvation in Goyala Basti in Agartala due to lockdown as regular customers have cancelled their monthly milk-purchasing deals unprecedented. The Golayas (Chowmen) alleged, without any clue given before, all the regular customers have rejected to buy milk asking them not to enter their home from now and to stay at home. This problem erupted even after Chief Minister Biplab Deb advised people to be more sympathetic to the poor people, when milk is an essential commodity. The Goyala Basti sellers are bound to sale milk at Rs. 10 but then also no customer is available.
