AGARTALA, Jan 21 (TIWN): Price hike has hit the customers in Tripura ahead of Saraswati Puja, without any prior assumption. Suddenly since yesterday all the food items prices have hiked across the Capital City taking the opportunity of festival season.
From vegetables to fruits and all food items prices have been hiked at a major level.
In the Capital City the markets of Battala, Maharaj Ganj, Lake Chowmuhani and other major markets are hit with huge price hike in last 48 hours.
Locals claimed that starting from the fruits to flower and the other puja items including the Sarawati idol are fueled by skyrocketing prices.
The price hike has left us no option rather than to deduct some of the items which we would have taken as a part of Puja celebration, said a local. Otherwise it is hard to manage the budget, said a local.
At the same time the price hike during the festive season has upsets the pocket of the consumers leading them to deduct in their monthly budget.
Despite of several hue and cry among the common mass regarding the price hike the concern authority is least bothered to look in to the situation.
