AGARTALA, Jan 19 (TIWN): The Agartala City is now under tight security as the crucial Assembly Election is just knocking the door.
The whole West Dist led by SP Abhijit Saptarshi are now under alerts, especially Agartala and Jirania areas.
Checking of vehicles are also going on in few parts and till election such security issues will be taken cared to avoid all kinds of untoward incident.
On the other side, Deputy Election Commissioner Sudeep Jain is in state and also held a crucial meeting with North Tripura Dist Polling Officers today.
Yesterday at Agartala he visited Umakanta School and checked VVPAT machines and other arrangements.
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sriram Taranikanti was also accompanying him.
Noteworthy, assembly elections in Tripura will be conducted on February 18, while people in Meghalaya and Nagaland will be voting on February 27. Counting of votes in all the three states in the north-east is on March 3.
