AGARTALA, August 23 (TIWN): Returning Officer (RO) for the assembly by-election at 39 Manu constituency today formed eight observer teams to keep strict vigil on the progress of preparations for the coming by-poll, official sources said. A highly placed source in the sub-divisional administration today said that the teams were formed following the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The source further said that video surveillance teams, video viewing teams, accounting teams, flying squads, static surveillance teams, media certification and monitoring teams, expenditure monitoring control room and call centre to maintain the election code of conduct.
Nomination papers would be accepted till August 27. The papers would be scrutinized till August 28. The submitted nomination papers can be withdrawn latest by August 30. While polling would be conducted on September 13, counting of votes would be done on September 16. Central armed police personnel would be Vaid that vulnerability assessment of assembly constituencies for the by-election is still in progress.
