AGARTALA, Dec 24 (TIWN): Veteran journalist Anup Nag (Amarendra Nag) took his last breadth last night at ILS Hospital. On 16th he fell on the street while on his way to meet a person at Office lane and suffered a blow on his back head. He was admitted to GBP hospital first and then shifted to ILS where he fought for life for the last one week.
He was the founder Vice-President of Tripura Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ). His body was today brought today at The Agartala Press Club for the members’ tribute to the departed soul and then his last working place Syandan. Editor of SYANDAN and all his reporting and non-reporting staffs gave floral tributes to their old colleague. Later Anup Nag’s body was taken to his rented house at Kadamtali in Krishnanagar. Finally his last rite was completed at Battala crematorium.
"We the members of Tripura Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) believe that passing away of our vice-president is a great loss for the union and express our condolence to the bereaved family. We pray to Almighty to spare a place for the departed soul at his heavenly abode. We also urge upon the Govt of Tripura to extend family pension to the widow of journalist Anup Nag as the lady has none to look after", said Tripura Union of Working Journalists.
