AGARTALA, Nov 15 (TIWN): One Tom-Tom driver was openly threatened by his colleagues at Kaman Chowmuhani on Wednesday after he was seen for taking Rs. 8 instead of unfare Rs. 10.
The tom-tom driver was with passengers from Battala to Motorstand and at Kaman Chowmuhani he dropped one woman passenger.
The passenger gave him Rs. 10 rupees and the tom-tom driver returned her Rs. 2 back. Suddenly 2 Tom-Tom drivers came to him asking, "How much she gave you? Atleast Rs. 10 you have to charge from each passengers".
In reply the driver said, "Today passenger was less and so I kept Rs. 8".
Then both the auto drivers said, "If less, don't take passengers, but below Rs. 10 rupees never keep from passengers".
This is what is going on across Agartala. If a passenger ask for the chart they will never show and for the vote banks both ruling, oppositions are silent on the issue.
One passenger said, "If the charge is Rs. 10 announced by the Govt, I had no problem to give, problem is about human rights and unfare means".
