AGARTALA, Nov 14 (TIWN): Along with the whole world; Tripura also celebrated the ‘World Diabetes Day-2017’ and organized awareness campaigns in various parts of the state.
The theme of World Diabetes Day 2017 will be Women and diabetes - Our right to a healthy future.
Tripura is majorly suffering from the bad affects of this disease, as it killing thousands and making people almost disable.
Keeping this in mind the world Diabetes Day was observed by following a huge rally at Agartala organized by Diabetes Welfare Society.
Diabetes Day was first introduced in 1991, and founded by both the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization.
The theme of World Diabetes Day regularly changes. For example, the theme for the day between 2009 and 2013 was education and prevention, and in the past such themes have been used such as human rights, lifestyle, obesity, the disadvantaged and vulnerable, and children/teenagers.
