AGARTALA, Oct 27 (TIWN): Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy in Central Library's inauguration at Tripura Central University, condemned the over-interference of politics in University-campuses, 'destroying' the educational environment, producing all 'garbage'.
Addressing at University's auditorium, Roy said, "We all know what happened to Dr. Santosh Bhattachariya, when he was VC of Calcutta University and in what terrible way he was treated. That would put off any professor or faculty member and result is that you will only get garbage".
"There will be a worshipping of mediocrity and the criteria will be toying of a political lie", said Governor hitting the current scenario of Universities.
"Fortunately Central Universities are not fully gripped in politics", added Roy.
