AGARTALA, Oct 23 (TIWN): How political pressure rules upon the media person once again felt when Sonamura based journalists have turned silent to investigate further with the smuggler case.
Agaratla based journalists at their level best are trying to unearth the story and taking follow-ups with personal strives through phone calls, but after such an incident held at Sonamura various excuses are given by the Sonamura journalists not to follow up the story.
The photographers till day has failed to take a single picture of Mamun Mia and Russel Mia who have been arrested by Sonmaura police.
However, no media can pressurize their photographers as life-threat remains when covering those areas.
But maximum journalists who have totally stopped to write on that issue, they are day-night sitting at the CPI-M party office. Question raises, why CPI-M’s close-journalists afraid of smugglers if there is no political pressure ?
Deepak Kumar Mandal, a Border Security Force (BSF) commanding officer who was attacked by cattle smugglers in Tripura's Sipahijala district on Monday, succumbed to his injuries today in Kolkata. The BSF Officer was injured while counter attacking cattle smugglers at Sonamura, had left in deep coma for 4 days. Mandal was undergoing treatment at Medica Hospital, suffering from multiple haemorrage in brain.
The cattle smugglers attacked a Border Security Force (BSF) commanding officer along the Indo-Bangla border in Tripura in the early hours on Monday.He was patrolling the area with his team to check cattle smuggling and other illegal activities along the international border which is “unfenced” . Mandal saw some cattle smugglers and challenged them, he said, adding the officer along with his guard and driver tried to stop them.
