AGARTALA, Oct 13 (TIWN): With the initiative of Tripura Revenue Dept aided by 22 organizations a massive rally was conducted at Agartala to mark International Day for Disaster Reduction-2017.
NDRF, Fire Brigade, Tripura Police, Disaster Management Officials and others took active participation in the rally which begun from Astabol and gathered at Umakanta Stadium.
Revenue Dept Principal Secretary Manoj Kurmar inaugurated the rally at Astabol.
International Day for Disaster Reduction, held every 13 October, celebrates how people and communities around the world are reducing their exposure to disasters. The 2017 edition continues under the "Sendai Seven" campaign, centred on the seven targets of the Sendai Framework. This year's focus is Target B: Reducing the number of affected people by disasters by 2030.
