AGARTALA, Sep 7 (TIWN): A student of Tripura Institute Of Paramedical Science (TIPS) was caught while playing blue-whale in his hostel. Immediately he was rusticated from the hostel.

The student has been identified as Niloy Das, resident of Kumarghat. TIPS authority has handed over the student to his parents. 

Blue Whale is a game allegedly consists of a series of tasks assigned to players by administrators during a 50-day period, with the final challenge requiring the player to commit suicide. The term "Blue Whale" comes from the phenomenon of beached whales, which is linked to suicide.

Hostel has been kept under high alerts to find out whether any other student is involved in such kinds of games. 

This incident has created panic among the teachers, guardians. The increasing SMART phone craze among youths leading such incidents, alleged the teachers of TIPS. 

Already in India many students have been victimized from Blue Whale game.
